Christiansborg Slot var oprindelig kongernes hovedresidens i København. I dag rummer slottet lokaler for Folketinget, Statsministeriet og Højesteret. Kongehuset har desuden fortsat rådighed over dele af slotte, nemlig De Kongelige Repræsentationslokaler, Christiansborg Slotskirke og det meste af Ridebaneanlægget. Det nuværende slot er det tredje Christiansborg på stedet. Det er opført 1907-28 og erstatter to tidligere nedbrændte slotte. Slotskirken ved siden af hovedslottet stammer fra det andet Christiansborg, og Ridebaneanlægget er bevaret fra det første Christiansborg. I Ridebaneanlægget kan man bl.a. besøge Teatermuseet og De Kgl. Stalde. Under slottet kan man se ruinerne af to endnu ældre bygninger på stedet, nemlig Absalons borg og Københavns SlotChristiansborg Palace, located on the small island Slotsholmen in the Copenhagen harbour, has more than 800 years of history as the power base of the kingdom and still today the palace houses several institutions of significant importance. Most of the premises at the palace are at the disposal of the Folketing, the Danish Parliament, but the palace also houses the Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court. Parts of the palace are available for the Royal House; the Royal Reception Rooms, Christiansborg Palace Chapel and most of the Riding Ground Complex.
