Songs and stories from all over the Nordic region - part of the Song and Poetry Café, where music and stories create community across borders.
The singing duo Lene Oustrup and Peter Lorenzen and Vejle Library invite you to the first Song and Poetry Café in the new Cultural Center at Willy Sørensens Plads 1.
This evening the trip goes north: Lene and Peter share songs they have collected on trips throughout the Nordic region - from Denmark, Norway and Sweden to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Finland, the Åland Islands and Greenland.
Along the way, stories are told about experiences and people, and some songs are sung in the original language.
The event is the fifth meeting of a new community with a focus on songs and stories. With a house orchestra, but also the opportunity to contribute yourself.
It is free to participate, but please register.
About the Song and Poetry Café
The song and poetry café is a collaboration between Vejle Library and the musical duo Lene and PeterHere, song and music, poetry and stories come together in a cozy setting - with changing themes, small presentations, musical performances and the opportunity to sing along. The audience can both listen and contribute their own song, poem or story by prior arrangement.
You are welcome to bring drinks for the evenings. When the café later moves into the new Cultural Center, it will also be possible to use the building's café facilities.
About Lene and Peter
The singing duo Lene and Peter have been entertaining with song and music all over the country since 2007. They have previously performed under the names Viser i Vinden and Drachmanns Venner, but now simply call themselves Lene and Peter.Their musical collaboration is based on a broad and vibrant repertoire, where both older and newer songs find space side by side.They move from the serious to the humorous, from the sad to the cheerful - always with a penchant for telling stories about the songs and putting them into a larger context.
