Jeong Lim Yang won NPR's "Best Debut Album of the Year" award and later received critical acclaim for her bold interpretation of Mary Lou Williams' masterpiece Zodiac Suite: Reassured (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2022)Here, the classic suite was reinterpreted in a piano trio format, with the double bass in the foreground. When Lim Yang takes the stage at ALICE in May, it will be with a quartet of excellent musicians.They are currently working on the album Synchronicity (Sunnyside, 2025), which, inspired by Carl Jung's theory of synchronicity, elegantly balances traditional jazz idioms and boundary-pushing improvisation.Look forward to an intense and immersive concert experience when Jeong Lim Yang visits ALICE in May.
