Eastwind

- a unique constellation of Polish Halas Duo and Danish Klezmer Duo We are going deep into the heart of Eastern Europe to Transylvania, Moldavia, Galicia, Bukovina, Ukraine, Romania and Poland. See the website for program and registration

Here, life-affirming klezmer music mixes with Roma tradition and local folk music in a fantastic and atmospheric tribute to nature, life, celebration and diversity.

EASTWIND plays traditional instruments that are not often heard in Denmark - hurdy-gurdy, Transylvanian cello, dulcimer, overtone flutes and Polish drums, complemented by accordion, soprano saxophone and polyphonic singing.

Halas Duo and Klezmer Duo have exchanged and inspired each other for 25 yearsThis has led to many joint projects: theatre and concert musicians in Poland, France and Denmark, joint performances and study projects around traditional Eastern European music, including in the border area of ??Poland/Ukraine/Belarus, organizers ofEastern European dance evenings.

Jacek Halas is one of the pioneers in the revival of the Polish folk music tradition.

He will, among other things, talk about meetings and exchanges with the old fiddlers and dancers, and about the revival of the old Epiphany, where people walk in costume from house to house with music and singing.About traveling in Ukraine and playing with the old lute masters. And about building a dance house in Poznan and inviting young people inside.
It takes place in easy-to-understand English - with the possibility of translation.

Dance workshop with Halas Duo

Jacek Halas is an excellent dance teacher who can teach even the most intricate dances using his body language alone. He founded and is the director of the Dance House in Poznan and has been involved with traditional Eastern European folk dances for years.

The workshop will be a festive gathering with simple dances from Eastern Europe, where everyone can join in.

Jacek Halas accompanies himself on accordion and Alicia Choromanska-Halas plays along on drums.

Playing workshop with Klezmer duo

Henrik Bredholt (Saxophone, clarinet) and Ann-Mai-Britt Fjord (harmonica) will be in charge of the playing workshop, where all instruments are welcome.

We will play simple dance melodies from Poland, Hungary and Bukovina, which we will be allowed to try out at tonight's ball.

See website for more information and to register for dining.
