Exhibition: Christiansfeld - A town in the making

See objects from the Brotherhood's large collection and learn more about the Brotherhood and Christiansfeld. The Brotherhood and Museum Kolding have teamed up on an exhibition that invites you on a journey back to the years around 1800 in Christiansfeld

See objects from the Moravian collection and learn more about the Moravian community and Christiansfeld. As a new twist, this exhibition contains new storiesMeet Eskild, a farmer's son from Funen, who visits Christiansfeld in 1798 - and learn more about Christiansfeld as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the exhibition, we take a closer look at the questions: Why does Christiansfeld look the way it does? What is special about the Moravian faith and religious life, social organization and business structure? And not least, who were the people who built and lived in Christiansfeld back to the years after its founding?

Objects from the city's origins
Rare objects are the focal point of the exhibition and help tell the story of the city's origins and developmentAmong the many objects, we can highlight three special treasures: parts from the original church well, which testify to the beginnings of the city, a plane used to build the city's very first houses, and wooden molds for the beloved cake creations called"jumping jackal".

Take a journey back to Christiansfeld in 1800 as a vibrant and authentic Moravian town.

The exhibition is a collaboration between Museum Kolding and the Moravian community in Christiansfeld with support from, among others, the Augustinus Foundation and Kolding Municipality.
