Come inside for the cozy baking weekends at the old Jacob Michelsens Farm
The weekends always take place at Shrove Tuesday, in spring, in late summer and at the first Advent.
In 2026, the old baking oven will be lit on the following dates:
March 14-15 (Shrove baking weekend)
May 30-31 (Spring Baking Weekend)
September 5-6 (late summer baking weekend)
28.-29. November (Advent baking weekend)
Bread and cakes are baked in the old-fashioned way - typically in the bakery and over many hours by the museum's volunteers. The museum is free to visit and coffee, cake and pastries are available for purchase.
About the museum
PåJacob Michelsen's Farm Regional MuseumYou can experience how the people of South Jutland lived over 100 years ago.
The history of the farm dates back to Aabenraa's land register from 1535. In 1847, the farm came into the possession of the Michelsen family, and today the house and its extensions have been transformed into a living museum with occasional openings of the garden and buildings.
The collection consists of old work tools, old peasant furniture and a large textile collection.
Throughout the year there are changing exhibitions about life on the farm.
