The climate becomes what you eat: Steak, plant-based steak, lentils or green salad?

Is it better to eat Spanish open-field tomatoes or Danish greenhouse tomatoes? Super topical lecture about food, climate - and the good choices

As part of the nationwide recurring science festival 'Forskningens Døgn' and 'Week 17' - the nationwide recurring theme week around the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals - Hørsholm Library invites you to an inspiring lecture about food choices and climate- because what should you choose if you want to avoid too much climate impact?

About tonight's lecture

Food accounts for a quarter of the climate impact of Danes. What strategies can we use to reduce the climate impact of our diet?

Change recipes, change menu plans, throw away less food, eat Danish, eat organic?

Is it better to eat Spanish free-range tomatoes or Danish greenhouse tomatoes? Is it better to eat beef stroganoff half as often or eat lentil steaks every week? Can the green bin of food waste save the climate?Does it matter if my blueberries arrive by plane? Do vegetarians suffer from protein deficiency?

We look at climate calculations on recipes and menu plans and look at what different strategies can do for the climate.

Michael Sogaard Jorgensen

The evening's speaker is honorary doctor and associate professor Michael Søgaard Jørgensen, who is a researcher at the Department of Sustainability and Planning at Aalborg University.

NOTE: Free tickets are available around week 11.
