Opera Hedeland is Denmark's largest permanent outdoor stage for opera and forms the setting for great musical experiences in a raw and atmospheric landscape.
The special location west of Copenhagen creates an informal atmosphere where nature, performing arts and the audience meet in the open air. The opera is performed in the open heathland, where grass, stone and water are a natural part of the scenography.The amphitheater is shaped according to the terrain and gives the audience the opportunity to experience opera in a different and more present way, where the surroundings actively contribute to the overall experience.
Opera in the countryside
The setups are developed specifically for the site and take into account both acoustics and the visual expression of nature.The audience can bring a picnic basket and blanket, which supports the relaxed atmosphere and makes the visit suitable for both opera enthusiasts and new guests.
Large-scale productions
Opera Hedeland presents self-produced works with international soloists and a full orchestraThe circular stage of approximately 800 m² is used for large productions and provides space for several thousand guests, depending on the setup and audience layout.
