Carlsberg Byen - from Jesuskirken to the latest construction

Everything is progressing according to the plan at Valby Bakke and Carlsberg Byen is reported completely built in 2024.

It is therefore time for us to take new paths and find new gems in the district. The tour is aimed at both new and previous participants.

We meet at Jesuskirken, which is a few hundred meters from Elefantporten. It was built by Carl Jacobsen and is completely unique in terms of style in a Danish context. From here we pass Carlsberg's new headquarters as well as Carl's Villa and Glyptotek, before moving into Carlsberg Byen itself.

We take a closer look at Det Grå Hus, Theodora Hus, Dahlerup's Tårn and Carls Have, before moving on to Bryggernes Plads, Elefantporten, Lagerkælder 3, Europaskolen, Den snoede Skorsten and Tuxens Tårn. From here we make our way past Scherfig Hus and the successful area with the triad of Bindesbøll, Heiberg and Rahbek Hus. We pass Humlebyen, Krøyers Hus and Grønlunds Tårn and at the old administration building we turn up through Humle Torv and Tapperitorvet and walk past Bohrs Tårn to the brewer's old garden. Here we evaluate Zealand's new "high jumper", Pasteur's Tårn, which with its 120 meters is surpassed only by a single tower in Denmark.

We end the tour in the garden with Æresboligen and Gamle Carlsberg, which is located where the whole adventure began. On this updated classic, Frederik Lindskov tells the history and the visions.

The tour is approx. 3 km and takes place at a normal walking pace.

Meeting place: Jesuskirken, Valby.

Tour ends: J.C. Jacobsen's Have (approx. 300 m from the start)

Hold: 2411137.
