In this class you will gain experience working with vintage fabrics or dead stock. You will learn the technical skills needed to express your individuality by creating a unique piece of clothing or a one of a kind accessory.
You will be provided with basic patterns and guided as you upcycle fabrics to design and sew clothes or accessories that express your personality. In this course, your creativity can run wild. The focus is on helping you to develop your own style. We will also learn about applying natural dye to fabrics.
We invite you to embrace the slow fashion movement and take an artisanal approach to sewing distinctive clothing and accessories. We take pleasure in producing unique upcycled pieces.
You will be learning how to combine different colors and textiles in ways that are sustainable, cool, creative and fun. You will also learn to work with pattern placement and more.

You will attend an exclusive course with the French designer from Hôtel Vetements. She has a degree in sustainable fashion, upcycling and natural fabric dyes, and a passion for passing on the knowledge she has gained from her years in the industry.

This class is for students with some previous sewing experience.
There are sewing machines on site, but feel free to bring your own machine or tools.
Students bear the expenses for the miscellaneous materials.
