I denne artist talk vil Josefina Nelimarkka uddybe sine seneste projekter om atmosfæriske fænomener og præsentere en lydoplevelse, der er forbundet med atmosfæriske data - og som frembringer flere måder at sanse, vide og være til stede på.

Om eventet:Josefina Nelimarkka (f. 1982) er en interdisciplinær kunstner, der arbejder med miljøspørgsmål og oplevelsesmuligheder. I sine stedssensitive værker, der er forbundet med vejr, vand og luft, udforsker hun naturfænomener og deres oplevelse ved at kombinere kunstnerisk og videnskabelig forskning. De interaktive installationer og teknologier afslører de subtile, men delvist uforståelige og komplekse processer, der bevæger sig mellem det synlige og det skjulte, det økologiske og det poetiske. Den kontinuerlige forandring, performative materialitet og realtidsdata fremhæver tidens ustabilitet og miljøets følsomhed.
Biografi:Josefina Nelimarkka arbejder i Helsinki og London. Hun er uddannet fra Royal College of Art i London og Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki. Hendes værker har været vist på mange internationale solo- og gruppeudstillinger, bl.a. på Amos Rex Museum, AIL Vienna, Helsinki Art Museum, Varbergs Konsthalle, Sinne og The Finnish Institute i London. De seneste projekter undersøger skyernes rolle i klimaforandringerne i samarbejde med klimaforskere. Hun deltog i FN's klimakonference i Dubai (2023) og præsenterede sine værker i Finlands COP28-pavillon.

In the artist talk, Josefina Nelimarkka will expand on her recent projects on atmospheric phenomena and present an audio experience connected to atmospheric data - bringing forth multiple ways of sensing, knowing and being present.

About the event:Josefina Nelimarkka (b. 1982) is an interdisciplinary artist working with environment questions and experientiality. In her site-sensitive works connected to weather, water, and air, she explores the natural phenomena and their perception combining artistic and scientific research. The interactive installations and technologies reveal the subtle yet partly incomprehensible and complex processes shifting between the in/visible, the ecological and the poetic. The continuous change, performative materiality and real-time data bring forth the instability of time and the sensitivity of the environment.
Biography:Josefina Nelimarkka works in Helsinki and London. She has graduated from the Royal College of Art in London and Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki. Her works have been shown in many solo and group exhibitions internationally such as Amos Rex Museum, AIL Vienna, Helsinki Art Museum, Varbergs Konsthalle, Sinne and The Finnish Institute in London. The recent projects investigate the role of clouds in climate change in collaboration with climate scientists. She participated in the UN climate conference in Dubai (2023) and presented her works at Finland's COP28 Pavilion.
