Choir Under Fire og Rockkoret i Musikhuset

About Rockkoret: "We perform the music you may think you know, but make it sound like you have never heard it before.

Rockkoret is an ambitious Copenhagen based a Capella choir consisting of approximately 35 experienced singers, who has the love of music and singing in common. The choir has existed for more than 40 years, and we actually still have one or two of the original singers with us. But of course, many new voices have been welcomed over the years.
We aim to have our own special sound with tight 8-voiced harmonies and all our music is arranged especially for us by our great and creative conductor Christian Berg, who has led the choir for more than 12 years.
Our repertoire is a broad spectrum of music, and we will perform songs by artists such as Andreas Odbjerg, Pil, Niki and the Dove, Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Jung and many more.
You can look forward to a special musical experience when Rockkoret and Choir under Fire engages in a double concert in Musikhuset on May 20th. We love singing with other choirs, because there is a certain intoxicating energy when many singers join forces, and we believe it to be very inspiring, not only for the audience but just as much for us.
We can't wait to lift the roof of Musikhuset, and we promise a concert from which you will leave happier than you came.
Choir under Fire inspires its audience with temperament and great joy in singing. Started as a choir for American music, the members continued to develop over the years. The repertoire is wide-ranging and includes mainly pop, jazz and swing.
The choir takes the audience on a musical journey with many different moods. From loud to quiet, from exuberant to melancholic, a capella or with piano accompaniment
The choir has almost 50 members and is located in Hanover in the North of Germany. Every second year Choir under fire travels abroad to sing together with local choirs. So international concerts were still given in England, Italy and Czechia.
Since 2014 Martin Schulte is the musical conductor. With his sympathetic and at the same time unyielding manner, he demands full commitment. After all, the actual work on a piece does not end with the right note being sung at the right time! It's about phrasing, rhythm, expression and - most importantly - the will to convey emotions. So the singers are always thrilled when "sounds" suddenly become "music".
