Den Hirschsprungske Samling

This art collection was donated to the Danish State by a tobacco merchant named Hirschsprung and was opened to the public in 1911. It consists of a very fine collection of Danish art from the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Works by the Golden Age painters Eckersberg and Købke, the Skaw painters Michael and Anna Ancher and P.S.Krøyer. From the 1890ies paintings by Hammershøj, Philipsen, the Funen painters and Danish symbolists.
